My stay at the Edinburgh Metro was quite disappointing mainly due to communication issues regarding room arrangements. While the hostel is neat and has a good location just off the Royal Mile, the overall experience was marred by a lack of customer care and some questionable cleanliness. The Wi-Fi service was also very frustrating as it barely worked, making the overall value for money feel less satisfying.

The rooms appeared clean, but I had doubts about their actual cleanliness, especially with some maintenance issues like misaligned furniture and a broken doorknob.

The Edinburgh Metro boasts an excellent location just off the Royal Mile, making it easy to explore the city. While the rooms are spacious enough to be comfortable and offer decent privacy, I found the bed uncomfortable and the overall cleanliness somewhat questionable. Customer service ranged from friendly to quite rude, and it seems additional attention to detail is needed. If you’re on a budget, this place offers good value, but be aware of noise and maintenance issues.

I had a good experience at Metro Hostel, located right near the Royal Mile, making it a great spot for festival-goers. The rooms are basic but clean, and the price is fantastic for the location. The shared facilities are adequate, but if you're looking for more amenities, this may not be the best fit. The steep cobbled street might be a concern if you're carrying a lot of luggage.

The Metro Hostel is a budget-friendly option with clean and basic accommodations. Its central location is a major plus, making it easy to explore the city. However, the noise and dust from the ongoing construction can be quite off-putting, and the kitchen could use more supplies. Overall, it's a solid choice for short stays, especially during the festival season.

This hostel is a great budget option for summer visitors to Edinburgh, with clean and basic private rooms. The kitchens are a big plus for cooking meals, and the location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city. However, be prepared for noise from the vibrant Cowgate area, especially during the busy evenings and weekends.

Rooms

During my stay, I appreciated the great location just off the Royal Mile and the decent pricing, especially during the busy Fringe Festival. However, I was disappointed by the lack of customer support and the questionable cleanliness, which left a sour taste. The facilities felt basic and could use some updates, particularly in terms of security and upkeep.

I had a surprisingly great experience at this hostel, which I initially approached with caution since it doubles as student accommodation. The rooms were basic but well-equipped, and the shared facilities worked perfectly for my needs. The location couldn’t be better, just a short walk from key attractions and plenty of dining options. While the bed comfort could use some improvement, I would absolutely recommend it, especially for budget-conscious travelers.

The hostel has an awesome location just off Cowgate, making it easy to explore the city. The room was basic but cozy, and the communal facilities created a fun atmosphere. However, the shower was broken, and the noise levels at night were annoying for light sleepers. For the price, it's a decent option, but be aware of the potential for interruptions.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hostel experience, especially for its affordable pricing and unique setup with single lockable rooms. The ability to cook in the shared kitchen was a big plus, but I did find the sleeping arrangements a bit uncomfortable due to the provided sleep sack instead of proper sheets. Overall, it's a great spot for budget travelers, especially during the summer months in Edinburgh.

On the downside, noise from the street and within the hostel was an issue, especially at night, and the shared facilities could use more attention.

This hostel offers a unique experience with single lockable rooms in a student hall setting, available only during the summer months. The shared facilities are clean and well-equipped, making it a great value for money, especially for a central location. However, noise from the street can be a downside at night, and the lack of amenities like a TV or regular bedding might not suit everyone.
